Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) seeks a Job Coach for Transition Services in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The role supports students through work-based learning, aligning with core values and collaborating with teachers and the work-based learning coordinator to maintain IEP integrity.

The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA)is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo regionand provides specialized services to schoolsand communitiesand optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partnerwith schooldistrictsand the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education,career learning, andeducatordevelopment, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.

We arecurrentlyseekinga Job Coach at KRESA Transition Services in Kalamazoo, Michigan.The essential responsibilitiesfor this positioninclude but are not limited to:

  • Align services with KRESA Core Values (Collaboration, Innovation, Compassion, Respect, and Integrity) and Culture & Belonging principles to engage and serve all students
  • Assiststudents with opportunities to obtain the skills, credentials,resourcesand support necessary to become employed orvolunteer
  • Ability to select and developappropriate instructionalmethods, skills and techniques attuned to people’sexperiences
  • Serve as liaison and collaborate with case load teachers and work-based learning coordinator, tomaintainthe integrity of the students IEP
  • Facilitate transportation using Metro County Connect for students to and from worksites, aswellassistsand train students to schedule reoccurring rides
  • Assistand provide support for student behaviorinterventionincluding the development and implementation of student behavior plans
  • Facilitate regular bi-weekly discussions with your WBL students on caseload during which: strength and skill guidance, review WBL evaluation in sections to help students connect to IEP goals
  • Keep abreast of current changes affecting WBL paperwork, FTE, 30-day signatures and student Training Agreements
  • Maintain up to date records for each WBL student andwork-siteneeded for COUNT purposes
  • CoordinateKRESA Transition Servicesactivities to incorporate equity throughout the WBL program (attending job fairs, creating campus learning and skill building opportunities for students).

  • Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled workday
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with others including students, parents, peers, colleagues, employers, agencies, administrators,etc
  • Work with caseload teachers to update on a consistent basis (daily/weekly), student's growth and effectiveness of meetingstudents’individual IEP Goals and Objectives
  • Create tasks list andmodifylist as to meet each individual student's level of need
  • Frequent travel within and around Kalamazoo County
  • Collect,maintain, and reportappropriate dataand outcomes to measure student's growth on IEP goals andobjectives
  • Expand work-based learning opportunities for students that lead to paidemployment
  • HelpingKRESA Transition ServicesWBL students explore new employment opportunities, providing feedback on resumes or coverlettersand strategizing for a successful job interview
  • Actively network,advocateandmaintainrelationships to promote career opportunities
  • Other duties asassigned

Qualified candidates will have a High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with Work-Based Learning sites and documentation preferred.

Thisis a 10-month calendar position in job grade 13 with anannual rate of pay between $29,818.80 and $42,441.30.
