Job summary

TCF Architecture in Tacoma is seeking a motivated Job Captain to lead construction document production and project coordination.

You will work closely with Project Architects and Project Managers, translating design intent into buildable documentation while maintaining quality and firm standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and delivering accurate, coordinated drawings in a fast-paced studio.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• 5+ years of professional experience in an architectural office.
• Demonstrated experience leading or significantly contributing to construction document production.
• Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and visualization software.
• Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and coordination of construction documents across project phases.
• Lead management of the project Revit model, including sheet setup and model organization.
• Develop wall sections, assemblies, and details; research materials and systems.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and other consultants to integrate drawings and resolve conflicts.
• Coordinate drawing packages for internal quality control reviews and ensure consistency and completeness.
• Apply building codes and accessibility requirements in the documents; support permitting and jurisdictional review.
• Assist with construction administration tasks including submittal reviews and RFI responses.
• Track production tasks and deadlines; communicate status with Project Architects and Project Managers.
• Maintain organized project files and uphold firm standards for documentation and drawing coordination.
• Guide and review the work of junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
