Qualifications

• Must have a New York State License.
• ARRT Certification is preferred.
• Background as EMT, CMA, or Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review physicians’ orders before x-ray procedures.
• Use X-ray equipment to take images of patients as per physicians’ orders.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.
• Position patients accordingly, possibly lifting or moving them.
• Limit radiation exposure by placing lead shields where needed.
• Ensure sound quality of X-rays to prevent repeat procedures.
• Work closely with the resident Radiologist for further tests.
• Regularly service and maintain x-ray equipment.
• Report any malfunctioning equipment to management.
• Maintain accurate records of x-ray procedures.

• Ensure that the X-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.
• Work closely with the resident Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required.
• Ensure that the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.
• Promptly notify management of damaged or malfunctioning X-ray equipment.
• Maintain an accurate record of completed X-ray procedures.
