Job summary

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York is seeking a skilled radiologic technologist to perform diagnostic procedures with independence and sound judgment, aligned with patient age and condition. You will operate X-ray equipment, ensure proper factors, protect patients, assist with contrast media, maintain QC records, and support physicians in procedures.

Strong adherence to sterile technique and infection control is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of job-related experience.
  • Completion of formal radiologic technology training in AMA approved school is preferred.
  • License, Radiologic Technology, NYS & ARRT Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily QC and other records as directed.
  • Position and transfer patients to the examination table.
  • Select proper technical factors on an individual basis.
  • Operate stationary and mobile x-ray equipment and process images to PACS.
  • Provide protection in accordance with safety standards.
  • Assist physicians in preparing and administering contrast media.
  • Responsible for delegated areas of authority in routine or special procedures.
  • Practice sterile techniques and infection control policies.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors or service organization.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Description

Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply diagnosis. Performs duties according to age and condition of patient. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Possesses knowledge of human growth and development.

  • Maintain daily QC and other adequate records as directed.
  • Positions and transfers patients to the examination table.
  • Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all diagnostic equipment use within the department or satellite areas. All necessary equip. is used properly and with professionalism. Use initiative when reporting equip. malfunctions to supervisors or service organize.
  • Operates stationery and mobile x-ray equipment and processes images according to established procedures and send them to PACS.
  • Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Assists physicians in preparing and administering contrast media for various special procedures.
  • Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures.
  • Practices sterile techniques and adheres to infection control policies.
  • Provides a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply diagnosis.
  • Performs all other duties as required.
Position Requirements
  • This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a and Job-Related minimum of 1 year job-related experience.
  • Desired (not required) criteria include: Completion of formal radiologic technology training in AMA approved school. One year experience as Staff technologist; comparable hospital setting preferred.
  • License, Radiologist Technology, NYS & ARRT Certification.
