Job summary

Lancium is seeking a Jira and Confluence Cloud Administrator to join our Houston-based IT team. You will configure, maintain, and improve Lancium’s Atlassian Cloud environment, translating stakeholder needs into practical workflows, reliable reports, and well-organized documentation.

The role requires hands-on Jira/Confluence admin experience and knowledge of SSO integrations. You’ll collaborate with program managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure secure access,

Qualifications

• Three+ years in Jira and Confluence admin, including Atlassian Cloud.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/CS/IS or related field.
• Experience configuring Jira workflows, fields, screens, permissions, and notifications.
• Proficient in JQL, filters, dashboards, and reporting; supports Scrum/Kanban.
• Experience managing Confluence spaces, permissions, templates, content organization.
• Experience building/troubleshooting automation rules and integrations; REST APIs, webhooks, scripting.
• Knowledge of Atlassian Cloud administration, user/group management, licensing, and SSO with Entra ID.
• Ability translating requirements into maintainable configurations; troubleshoot issues.
• Strong communication and documentation; training users with program managers.
• Atlassian admin certification and familiarity with Jira Service Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Jira and Confluence Cloud, including configuration, access, licensing, and ongoing platform support.
• Configure Jira projects, workflows, work types, custom fields, screens, permission schemes, and notifications; maintain consistent standards while supporting team needs.
• Build and maintain boards, filters, dashboards, and reports that help teams track milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery progress.
• Manage Confluence spaces, templates, navigation, and content standards; collaborate with content owners to improve documentation quality and lifecycle.
• Create, test, and maintain automation rules and approved integrations to reduce manual work and improve consistency between Jira, Confluence, and other business systems.
• Manage user and group access, project roles, space permissions, and external collaboration; coordinate with IT on Entra ID SSO, provisioning, and access reviews.
• Evaluate and administer integrations, including permissions, licensing costs, and support requirements, in collaboration with IT and security.
• Troubleshoot configuration, access, automation, and integration issues; provide user training and documentation, and coordinate unresolved issues with Atlassian or app vendors.
• Maintain configuration documentation and change controls; test changes, monitor usage and audit activity, and coordinate data exports/recovery with IT.

What You'll Do

The Jira and Confluence Cloud Administrator configures, maintains, and improves Lancium’s Atlassian Cloud environment. Reporting to the Director of Program Management, this role works with program managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into practical workflows, reliable reporting, and organized documentation. The administrator supports secure access, consistent platform governance, and effective adoption across teams.

• Configure Jira projects, workflows, work types, custom fields, screens, permission schemes, and notifications; maintain consistent standards while supporting team needs.

• Manage Confluence spaces, templates, navigation, and content standards; work with content owners to improve documentation quality and maintain content through its lifecycle.
• Create, test, and maintain automation rules and approved integrations to reduce manual work and improve consistency between Jira, Confluence, and other business systems.
• Manage user and group access, project roles, space permissions, and external collaboration; coordinate with IT on Entra ID single sign-on, provisioning, and access reviews.
• Evaluate and administer integrations, including permissions, business value, licensing costs, and support requirements, in collaboration with IT and security.
• Troubleshoot configuration, access, automation, and integration issues; provide user training and documentation, and coordinate unresolved issues with Atlassian or app vendors.
• Maintain configuration documentation and change controls; test significant changes, monitor usage and audit activity, and coordinate data exports, retention, and recovery procedures with IT.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience administering Jira and Confluence, including hands-on administration of both platforms in Atlassian Cloud.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• Experience configuring Jira workflows, fields, screens, permissions, and notifications; understanding of shared configurations and their impact across projects.
• Proficiency in Jira Query Language (JQL), filters, dashboards, and reporting; experience supporting Scrum, Kanban, or other structured delivery processes.
• Experience administering Confluence spaces, permissions, templates, and content organization, including practices for content ownership, review, and archiving.
• Experience building and troubleshooting automation rules and integrations; familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and scripting for administrative tasks.
• Working knowledge of Atlassian Cloud administration, user and group management, licensing, and Marketplace apps; familiarity with single sign-on and automated user provisioning through Entra ID or another identity provider.

• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into maintainable configurations, assess the impact of changes, and troubleshoot issues systematically.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with experience training users and partnering with program managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
• Atlassian administration certification, experience with portfolio or program reporting, and familiarity with Jira Service Management are preferred.
