Job summary

NEP Group Inc. is seeking a skilled camera operator for NEP Studios to capture live broadcasts and productions. The role involves operating television and motion picture cameras, swinging the jib, and coordinating with directors to achieve the intended visuals.

You will assemble and balance crane systems, monitor set safety, and ensure equipment is tested and maintained. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and adaptability to flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Broadcasting or Communications preferred, however a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3 years of experience preferred with proven experience operating camera jib.
  • Ability to stand for long hours and have arm-hand steadiness and near/far visualization.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems timely.
  • Able to work in an individual or team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
  • Reliable, punctual and professional demeanor.
  • Must be willing and able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Swings the jib arm and controls pan, tilt, focus, and zoom to execute camera movements.
  • Assembles, aligns, and weights crane system before production.
  • Monitors footprint and counterweight clearance to protect crew and equipment.
  • Operate cameras to record scenes for TV broadcasts or motion pictures.
  • Compose and frame shots applying light, lenses, and camera settings to director's needs.
  • Collaborate with directors, camera operators and production departments.
  • Work efficiently in fast-paced production environments.
  • Operate and maintain circuit boards, processors, and electronic equipment.
  • Test, clean, and maintain equipment before/during/after assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The purpose of this position is to operate television, video or motion picture cameras to photograph TV broadcasts and video productions for NEP Studios.

  • Swings the jib arm and controls pan, tilt, focus, and zoom to execute fluid camera movements like overheads, reveals, and tracking shots.
  • Assembles, aligns, and weights the crane system safely before production begins, ensuring proper counterweight balance.
  • Monitors the physical footprint and counterweight clearance of the jib to protect talent, crew, and equipment on set.
  • Operate television or motion picture cameras to record scenes for television broadcasts, advertising, or motion pictures.
  • Compose and frame each shot, applying technical aspects of light, lenses, film, filters, and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors. Follow production instructions, shot lists and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate and maintain clear communications with directors, camera operators and production departments.
  • Work efficiently in fast-paced production environments.
  • Operate and maintain circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Test, clean, and maintain equipment to ensure proper working conditions before during and after each assignment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
