The United Nations Global Leadership & ESG Programme (UNGLEP) was jointly established by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Social Impact Investment Foundation (SIIF). Operating under the guidance and supervision of UNITAR, UNGLEP’s core mission is to leverage the resources and networks of the United Nations system and its global partners to address the world’s most pressing shared challenges—such as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and combating the global climate crisis. Through systematic and constructive institutional capacity-building, along with innovative practical solutions, UNGLEP empowers partner organizations by harnessing the knowledge, research, and project resources of the UN system. It focuses on cultivating leadership and implementation capabilities in key fields including global digital transformation, clean technology and energy, artificial intelligence, and robotics. UNGLEP serves as a funding partner, project implementation partner, and technical supporter to the United Nations system and other international organizations.
The Multinational Corporation SDGs/ESG Global Youth Sustainable Career Advancement Programme (GYSCA), a flagship initiative of UNGLEP, advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by leveraging the global resources and industrial influence of the United Nations and multinational corporations. It is dedicated to building a leading global platform for youth internships and sustainable career development, cultivating highly adaptive AI-era talent—GEAR Talent—equipped with global perspectives, ESG-driven values, AI competencies, and resilience.
As UNGLEP expands its engagement in the USA, the Programme seeks a dedicated professional to support the advancement of GYSCA across the country, with a focus on partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and outreach to academic and corporate institutions.
1. Partnership Development and Stakeholder Engagement
Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with corporations, academic institutions, and relevant organizations across the USA to support the implementation and expansion of the GYSCA initiative. Develop partnership proposals and maintain regular communication with existing and prospective partners.
2. Programme Promotion and Outreach
Lead outreach efforts to promote GYSCA among university students and recent graduates in the USA, including engagement with career services, academic departments, and student organizations. Organize and participate in information sessions, career fairs, and networking events to attract qualified candidates.
3. Communications and Media Engagement
Contribute to the development and execution of a regional communications strategy, including the preparation of press materials, social media content, and newsletters. Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries and represent UNGLEP at conferences, panel discussions, and other public engagements as appropriate.
4. Strategic Analysis and Reporting
Monitor regional trends in ESG, youth employment, and corporate engagement to inform strategic planning. Prepare regular reports on partnership development, outreach activities, and recruitment outcomes for submission to UNGLEP leadership.
5. Coordination with Global Teams
Collaborate with UNGLEP teams based in other regions to ensure alignment of programme objectives, branding, and operational standards. Contribute to the continuous improvement of programme implementation through knowledge sharing and best practice exchange.
6. Other Duties
Perform additional tasks as required to support the effective functioning of UNGLEP’s activities in the USA.

Planning and Organizing: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, International Relations, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this position, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French is an advantage, particularly for engagement with partners in Canada.
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency- based interview.
Demonstrated openness to change and ability to navigate complex environments. Capacity to work with a high degree of independence, exercising initiative and sound judgment. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse cultural and national backgrounds.
Willingness to travel within the USA as required.
