Job summary

JAX Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, WV seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to support the Pomeroy Clinic. The LPN will prepare patient charts, assist with procedures, and ensure rooms are ready for physician visits. Responsibilities include patient prep, injections, immunizations, and coordinating tests and medications.

The role requires current WV LPN licensure (or eNLC) and CPR. Typical duties include charting, patient communication, and daily room maintenance to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: LPN licensure or multi-state eNLC licensure; CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Check examining rooms daily, clean and stock as required.
• Prepare patients for the physician, including weighing, measuring, and performing tests as necessary.
• Clean examining room after patient leaves.
• Carry out physician orders (injections, appointments, wound care, treatments).
• Assist physician or NP with treatments.
• Screen incoming calls to determine if physician/NP needs to see patient.
• Inform parents how to care for illnesses.
• Maintain neat work area and waiting rooms.
• Record test results in patient charts and contact patients about tests.
• Collect urine drug screens and complete paperwork.
• Perform breath alcohol tests.
• Conduct Well Child exams and administer immunizations.
• Coordinate medication authorizations with pharmacies.
• Pull and process patient charts for next day; update immunizations.
• Thoroughly clean and stock examination rooms weekly.
• Make patient appointments.
• Perform filing, answer calls, and other duties as assigned.

Pull and process patient charts for next day. This includes such items as stamping, adding sheets, updating immunizations15. Thoroughly clean and stock each examination room weekly16.
