Blue Nile in New York, NY is seeking a Setting Supervisor to lead the jewelry setting cell, translating the production plan into daily execution, guiding a skilled team, and ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

This role emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration with QA and the Production Flow & Quality Coordinator, and accountable leadership for cost, throughput, and customer commitments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fine-jewelry manufacturing, repair, or quality evaluation.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Proven ability to improve safety, quality, and delivery in a production cell.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and structured problem solving.
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsabilités

• Lead daily tier meetings; translate demand and priorities into a clear shift plan, assign work based on skill and capacity.
• Maintain control of cell WIP and flow using visual management, FIFO and priority rules.
• Own daily performance for safety, first-pass yield, throughput, and labor productivity; implement countermeasures.
• Ensure safe work practices, proper tool condition, and prompt reporting of safety concerns.
• Provide floor leadership and technical guidance across jewelry production; overcome hurdles and optimize finishes.
• Review customer repairs and special orders for feasibility, required work, and cost implications.
• Ensure aesthetic, workmanship, and finish requirements are understood and achieved.
• Direct the Production Flow & Quality Coordinator's priorities and integrate QA with production rhythm.
• Build quality at the source through self-inspection and standard work; maintain traceability records.
