Blue Nile is seeking a Production Flow & Quality Lead to oversee daily cell performance, turning the production plan into disciplined workflow while ensuring orders are complete and quality-verified before the next operation.

The role is a hands-on floor leadership position without direct reports, coordinating with multiple partners to maintain flow and protect commitments. Strong jewelry quality knowledge and proactive problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production control, order fulfillment, quality inspection, jewelry operations, or a comparable high-detail environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and control multiple work orders, maintain accurate status, manage competing priorities, and identify schedule risk in a fast-paced operation.
• Strong attention to detail and the visual acuity and judgment required to learn and consistently apply defined jewelry quality standards; prior jewelry inspection or bench experience preferred.
• Willingness and ability to complete required quality-inspection training, certification, recertification, and calibration activities before independently inspecting assigned work.
• Working knowledge of standard work, visual management, root-cause problem solving, and continuous-improvement principles preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to give direct, respectful feedback and elevate concerns with clear facts.
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Excel, Slack, and production or order-management systems; able to enter and retrieve information accurately throughout the shift.
• Ability to work routinely on the production floor, move between work areas, and handle high-value customer orders in accordance with safety, security, and product-control procedures.
• Consistent record of reliability, attendance, quality, integrity, and follow-through; Spanish-language proficiency preferred.

Responsabilités

• Participate in the daily cell meeting and translate the Supervisor's production priorities into clear order sequencing, assignment, movement, and follow-up throughout the shift.
• Receive, scan, sort, stage, assign, collect, and distribute work orders in accordance with the production plan, FIFO and priority rules, established routes, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate real-time order status, location, ownership, routing, and completion information in factory systems and visual controls; immediately investigate missing, stalled, misrouted, or aging work.
• Confirm each order has the required components, documentation, specifications, approvals, and system information before release to the next operation; resolve or elevate gaps rather than passing incomplete work downstream.
• Monitor cell WIP, input, output, queue age, schedule risk, and due-date performance; alert the Production Supervisor early when demand, capacity, material, technical, or system conditions threaten the plan.
• Coordinate with Jewelers, Setters, Polishers, Production Supervisors, Order Processing, CAD, Quality Assurance, Shipping, and other partners to remove flow barriers and protect customer commitments.
• Protect high-value and custom orders through disciplined handling, positive job identification, traceability, and compliance with all security and product-control requirements.
