The Jet Pump Shop Hand is responsible for assisting with the preparation, maintenance, assembly, repair, and testing of hydraulic jet pump equipment and related components in the shop environment. This role supports Jet Pump Service Technicians by ensuring equipment is cleaned, inspected, rebuilt, documented, and ready for deployment to customer locations. The Shop Hand also assists with warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and rebuilding of jet pump equipment, power ends, fluid ends, skids, vessels, and related components.
- Prepare rental and customer-owned equipment for field deployment.
- Inspect returned equipment for wear, damage, and maintenance requirements.
- Assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic jet pump systems and associated equipment.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, pressure washers, forklifts, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and transporting equipment.
- Support inventory management activities, including cycle counts and material organization.
- Verify equipment is complete, properly labeled, and ready for shipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records as required.
- Keep shop, warehouse, and work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Work overtime, weekends, and travel occasionally as business needs require.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Experience in oilfield operations, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, or warehouse environments.
- Knowledge of hydraulic jet pumps, triplex pumps, positive displacement pumps, or pressure pumping equipment.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Experience reading basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to work in a shop, warehouse, and outdoor environment.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, grease, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
