Job summary

Jail Education and Experience (JET) Program Coordinator at Boulder County Community Services administers in-jail education and support, conducting screenings and activity planning to guide individualized services. The role collaborates with jail staff and community providers to ensure safety and coordinated care.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with potential 4-10s schedule, located at Boulder County Jail. English and Spanish bilinguals are preferred and encouraged.

Qualifications

• 6 years of combined education and experience in peer internships, and/or in a direct service capacity (e.g., counseling, or human services) or a related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
• Experience with assessments and case planning.
• Experience facilitating groups therapy sessions.
• Experience working with clients in the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Provide in jail support, education, and connection to resources during incarceration.
• Conduct client screenings, intakes, and assessments to guide individualized service planning.
• Facilitate evidence based therapeutic and psychoeducational groups (e.g., CBT, DBT, life skills).
• Offer one on one support such as case management, coaching, and brief crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with Jail Operations staff, behavioral health teams, and community providers to ensure safety and coordinated care.
