Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking a Jet Operator to load machines, calibrate jets per SOP, and record settings for dyeing operations. You will handle fabric loading, unfolding, cutting swatches, and data entry into WIP while ensuring quality and safety across the production line.

You will also monitor machines, manage change processes, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement improvements and ensure adherence to specifications. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of textile manufacturing methods and defects.
• Problem solving skills with 8D and PPS.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• PC skills to include MS Excel/Word, PowerPoint, and basics.
• Understanding of Lean improvement methods - Standardized work, 5S, SMED, 7 forms of waste, visual management, and Andon.
• AIAG tools APQP, PFMEA/CP, SPC etc.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety standards and ensure team adherence to safety.
• Plan, monitor, and appraise results; coach and discipline staff as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste, improve safety, quality, cost, and machine efficiency.
• Monitor process steps, adjust variables, and supervise personnel and resources.
• Deliver production plans on time by prioritizing and scheduling.
• Collaborate with Launch/Product Engineering to meet requirements.
• Enforce engineering change processes and deviations control.
• Maintain quality standards and stop processing if issues arise.
• Support repair evaluations and adoption of new equipment/techniques.
• Produce and analyze performance data and reports.
• Create or revise procedures; implement changes through deviations or ECRs.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment per safety policies.
