Job summary

Kids for the Future in Shoemakersville, PA is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Machine Operator to lift fabric up to 50 lbs, set up for dyeing, and work in a humid environment. You will move wheeled boxes, retrieve dye directions from a computer, and inspect products for defects after processing.

Responsibilities include reading English, basic math, legible handwriting, and clear communication with peers. PPE is provided and tow-motor training is offered to ensure safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• Read and understand English
• Lift 50 lbs regularly throughout shift
• Stand for most of the shift
• Operate tow motors (training provided)
• Wear PPE and follow safety procedures
• Participate in safety training
• Communicate with peers and supervisors about issues
• Legible handwriting and basic math skills

Responsibilities

• Lift dry and wet fabric up to 50 lbs to set up for dyeing
• Work in a humid/wet environment
• Move wheeled boxes of fabric
• Retrieve dye directions from computer
• Read and understand dye slip instructions
• Evaluate product for defects before and after processing
• Handle, measure, dispense chemicals and dyes
• Other tasks at manager’s discretion
