Job summary

The Jazz Composition Student Assistant at Berklee College of Music will support the Jazz Composition side of the Harmony and Jazz Composition department, focusing on outreach, event coordination, and music preparation.

Key tasks include copyist duties, promoting department events, arranging concerts, workshops, and student showcases, and serving as a liaison between the department and students during events and coursework.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled Berklee student in the United States.
• Half-time enrollment in a degree, diploma, or certificate program.
• Visa status, if applicable, remains valid during employment.
• Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and good disciplinary standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for the Harmony and Jazz Composition Coordinator (e.g., organizing materials, scheduling, setting up rooms for classes and rehearsals).
• Help manage the department's social media.
• Assist with the organization and promotion of department events, including concerts, workshops, and student showcases.
• Act as a liaison between the department and students at events and coursework.
• Handle Copyist duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
