Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) in Los Angeles seeks a Java developer to enhance data utilization for a large state-run project. You will aggregate data from multiple sources and design plans for collection, processing, storage, and reporting.

The ideal candidate has expert Java programming knowledge and strong experience with Java Server Faces, plus enterprise systems expertise to collaborate with business, development, and QA teams for testing and acceptance procedures.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience developing Java web applications using the Java Server Faces framework.
• Five (5) years of experience in Java web application UI design and implementation including HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
• Three (3) years of experience integrating Java web applications with SQL databases using Hibernate.
• Three (3) years of SQL relational database design and coding experience.
• Five (5) years of experience developing software both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to produce software designs.
• Provide work estimates to project manager, give status updates and track progress.
• Formulate program specifications and basic prototypes.
• Transform designs and specifications into high-functioning code.
• Integrate software solutions into higher-level systems.
• Use web-based tools to create and advance applications.
• Test code and debug to ensure desirable results.
• Collaborate with business, development, and QA teams to develop testing and acceptance procedures.
• Perform upgrades to improve security and efficiency.
• Provide training, knowledge transfer, and documentation for user support.
