Job summary

Wise Skulls LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a hands-on Java + SRE Engineer with strong Java/Spring Boot development, production support, observability, and troubleshooting experience, plus working knowledge of Generative AI and AI-assisted engineering tools.

You will tackle incidents, implement reliable deployments on Kubernetes/OpenShift, monitor logs with Splunk and Elasticsearch/Kibana, and automate tasks with scripting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java/J2EE with Spring Boot and REST microservices.
• Experience with production support, incident management and RCA.
• Log analysis using Splunk and Elasticsearch/Kibana; create dashboards and alerts.
• Knowledge of SLA/SLOs, reliability, and change management.
• Experience deploying on Kubernetes/OpenShift and Linux environments.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and scripting for automation.
• Working knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, and AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot.
• Some exposure to prompt engineering and AI agents is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve application reliability.
• Automate operational tasks to raise efficiency and reduce toil.
• Leverage AI tools for debugging, code development, and log analysis.
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to incidents using observability data and dashboards.
• Support deployments on Kubernetes/OpenShift and manage connectivity concerns.
