About the job:

Our client is seeking a Junior to Mid-level J2EE/SQL Server Developers for a 100% remote, contract position.

Our client's tech stack is mostly .NET/C#/SQL Server, so this is a unique, project-specific need for them.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years experience in Java (J2EE) development for the mid-level Developer and 7+ for the Senior level Developer.
• Experience with SQL Server stored procedures and schema development.
• Building web pages using existing servlets. Front-end access is limited since this is a third-party vendor application, so candidates must be comfortable working on the backend.
• HTML experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Any C#/.NET experience is a bonus because they could put you on another project after this 8-month contract finishes and extend you for four months for a total of 12 months.

What you will be doing:

• This is a Java-centric role (85%), with some SQL Server stored procedure and schema development (15%).
• Web pages being built involve basic data collection — e.g., a simple screen with a few fields saved back to the SQL Server database.
• Stored data needs to be properly structured — new screens will require database schema support.
• The work supports a third-party vendor application.
• Timeline estimate: 8 months, but if the Java Developer has any C#/.NET experience, they could find other work and extend the contract to 12 months.
