Summary

We seek an experienced and highly skilled MySQL Database Administrator proficient in Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a 100% remote opportunity (CDT hours). Please note, we cannot consider candidates requiring visa sponsorship but will consider C2C arrangements.

Responsibilities

1. Deploy, configure, and maintain MySQL on RDS and EC2.
2. Architect high-availability, backup, and disaster-recovery solutions.
3. Monitor and tune database performance; optimize queries and troubleshoot issues.
4. Automate provisioning, patching, and scaling with CloudFormation and Terraform.
5. Maintain strong Linux administration skills and scripting (Bash, Python).
6. Collaborate with development and operations teams on schema design and CI/CD integration.
7. Familiarity with other relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) is a plus.

Qualifications

1. 8+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA.
2. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
3. Expertise in AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, IAM). The base salary range is $91,457 - $137,186, plus incentives based on performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, holidays, and paid learning days.
