Job summary

VantageSportz LLC is seeking a well-rounded Software Developer on a full-time contract basis to contribute to search technology development internationally.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, promoting quality software design, and delivering new features end-to-end. Candidates should have a CS background and 1–3+ years in Java, with knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, Lucene and SQL. Strong analytical skills and mentoring ability are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 1-3+ years of JAVA software development experience with strong understanding of J2SE and Java web apps.
• Good knowledge in Spring, Hibernate, Lucene, SQL or similar back-end tech.
• Knowledge of Open Source libraries, tools and frameworks for logging, testing, building.
• Experience with Lucene/Solr or other IR technologies.
• Ability to slice problems and mentor others (interns, juniors).
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, designers, product managers and QA engineers.
• Work with platform leads and architects to promote good software design and quality.
• Drive innovation and propose new ideas for products and processes.
• Develop end-to-end front-to-back features as part of a team.
• Identify issues in architecture and code and refactor to improve quality.
