Job summary

WarCollar Industries, LLC is seeking an experienced Search Software Engineer to support mission-critical national security programs. This role is ideal for engineers with deep expertise in Java development, enterprise search technologies, and big data platforms who thrive in high-impact, production environments.

Design, develop, and optimize Java-based backend services and high-performance search infrastructure using Solr/Elasticsearch.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience with Solr/Elasticsearch and schema design.
5+ years of backend Java development.
Experience delivering production software through code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment.
TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph required.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications supporting mission operations.
Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Solr and/or Elasticsearch environments for high-performance search capabilities.
Perform schema updates and implement search enhancements.
Develop and optimize complex Lucene queries to improve search accuracy and efficiency.
Manage and tune Solr/Elasticsearch shards for scalability, resilience, and performance.
Develop solutions within large-scale data environments using Hadoop, Spark, PySpark, and HBase.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment of production-ready software.
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to deliver innovative technical solutions.
