Job summary

VantageSportz LLC is seeking a well-rounded Software Developer on a full-time contract basis to contribute to search technology development internationally.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, promoting quality software design, and delivering new features end-to-end. Candidates should have a CS background and 1–3+ years in Java, with knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, Lucene and SQL. Strong analytical skills and mentoring ability are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 1-3+ years of JAVA software development experience with strong understanding of J2SE and Java web apps.
• Good knowledge in Spring, Hibernate, Lucene, SQL or similar back-end tech.
• Knowledge of Open Source libraries, tools and frameworks for logging, testing, building.
• Experience with Lucene/Solr or other IR technologies.
• Ability to slice problems and mentor others (interns, juniors).
• Strong analytical skills.

• Engage with other developers, designers, product managers and quality engineers.
• Work with platform technical leads and architects to promote great software design and quality.
• Drive innovation by coming up with new and surprising ideas for our products and processes.
• Develop awesome new features front to back as part of a team.
• Point out issues with the existing architecture and code, and clean it up to make it better.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree is required in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 1-3+ years of JAVA software development experience is preferred: you must have excellent understanding of J2SE and deep architectural understanding of Java web applications & application servers.
• Good knowledge in some back-end technologies (i.e. Spring, Hibernate, Lucene, SQL, or others).
• Knowledge of Open Source libraries, tools and frameworks, e.g. for logging, testing, and building.
• Experience with technologies such as lucene, solr, or other IR technologies.
• Ability to slice and dice problems and tasks so they can be worked on by others and ability to mentor others (interns, rookies, and junior developers).
• Strong analytical skills
