Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a software engineer to contribute to core product offerings built in Java using Spring Boot. You will develop, document, test, and maintain services that power payments platforms, collaborating with teammates across the engineering organization.

This hybrid role in San Francisco (also Scottsdale, Chicago, New York) requires experience with Git, SQL, REST, and automated testing, plus a passion for quality, security, and scalable fintech systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field.
• No previous work experience required.
• Familiar with Git source control.
• Familiarity with automated tests.
• Familiarity with SQL.
• Working knowledge of RESTful service design.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Must be US Citizen or US National.
• Background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Develop features to enhance Early Warning core product offerings.
• Manage source code using Git.
• Query platform data with SQL-based databases.
• Build Java Web Services using Spring Boot.
• Track sprint work in Jira and document decisions in Confluence.
• Create automated tests integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Submit pull requests and incorporate review feedback.
• Troubleshoot routine to moderately complex bugs during development.
• Support risk management and data confidentiality.
