Base pay range

$60.00/hr - $65.00/hr

Location: Remote; United States

Terms: 6-month contract; potential for permanent hire

Rate: $60-$65/hr.; W-2 depending on experience.

Capstone IT is assisting our client in making a fast hire for a Backend Java Developer. This opportunity begins as a 6-month contract running through the end of 2025, with strong potential for a full-time conversion. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in Java backend development, container-based systems, and microservice integrations in cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, enterprise level environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Build and deploy containerized applications, preferably using Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG).
• Integrate RESTful APIs, AWS microservices, and third-party applications; MuleSoft experience is a plus.
• Collaborate within Agile development frameworks, utilizing tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Workflows/Actions and manage dependencies effectively.
• Embrace and promote a culture of inclusion, curiosity, and collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of professional Java development experience in enterprise settings.
• Deep proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and general backend engineering principles.
• Experience with container-based development and scalable application design with TKG/Kubernetes.
• Strong integration background with RESTful APIs and AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with MuleSoft or similar API integration platforms.
• Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to iterative software delivery.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work remotely with reliable high-speed internet.
