Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Java Software Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Annapolis Junction, MD. Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph REQUIRED. Telework: None.

The role centers on Java development within an Agile team, using Quarkus and PrimeFaces, with opportunities to broaden Java skills and optimize performance on mission-focused projects.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience as a software engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or 4 extra years of software engineer experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience designing algorithms with strict timing/resource constraints.
• Ability to work with customers to derive requirements and constraints.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to improving documentation and software development process standards.
• Collaborate with customer to derive software requirements and system capabilities.
• Coordinate software installation and monitor system functions to meet specs.

Java Software Engineer (Annapolis Junction, MD)

Basic Requirements:

• 7 years of experience as a software engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • 4 additional years of experience as a software engineer may be substituted for a degree

Job Description:

• The ideal candidate will become a member of a software development effort using Java as the primary language.
• The development effort uses Agile methods to assign, track and manage software activities and requirements within the team.
• This position will allow the candidate to broaden their skills in the Java language as well as use technologies such as Quarkus and PrimeFaces.

Required Experience:

• Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products.
• Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
• As a team, confer with customer to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functions to ensure operational specifications are met.

Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 annually
