Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions is seeking a Sr. Software Integration Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD to lead test, evaluation, integration, and troubleshooting of the HPC software stack.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, Linux command-line proficiency, Bash/Python scripting, and experience with HPC systems and batch scheduling tools. Excellent benefits are offered; full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 5 years of additional software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is REQUIRED.
• Security+ certification is required as part of basics.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, and supporting COTS/GOTS software.

Sr. Software Integration Engineer (Annapolis Junction, MD)

• 10 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • 5 additional years of experience as a software engineer may be substituted for a degree

Job Description:

• The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for the test, evaluation, integration, and troubleshooting of the HPC software stack and related system issues.

Required Experience:

• Experience with the Linux CLI, and the Linux suite of tools
• Extensive recent experience using Bash/Python to develop scripts
• Solid understanding of the Slurm resource management and job scheduling tool
• Experience with integration, evaluation, and system administration of HPC systems
• Experience troubleshooting HPC system problems, including basic system administration tasks, including software stack issues and hardware issues
• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Salt and Ansible
• Familiar with HPC shared file systems such as Lustre, GPFS, and Panasas
• Familiar with system monitoring tools such as Ganglia and Nagios
• Familiar with acceleration technologies such as GPU, FPGA, and ASICs
• Familiar with high-speed network interconnect technologies such as InfiniBand and Slingshot
• Familiar with open-source industry-standard HPC benchmark tooling
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with a rigorous, analytical approach that enables diagnosis of root causes and discovery of mitigation/solution paths

Desired Experience:

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience supporting HPC large-scale systems and customers

Salary: $250,000 - $260,000 annually
