Job summary

Berkley Technology Services (BTS) in Urbandale, IA, invites you to join as a Software Development Intern for June 2027. You'll support a Java-based policy administration platform, gaining exposure to the full stack—from requirements through design, development, testing, deployment and support.

You’ll work with Java, Spring, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, RESTful and SOAP APIs, collaborating with underwriters and end users to see how your code impacts business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework in CS or MIS with programming emphasis.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages; Java preferred; SQL experience a plus.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Customer service focus and sense of urgency.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement product enhancements for the underwriting platform.
• Experience full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, support.
• Hands-on work with Java, Spring, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, RESTful and SOAP APIs.
