Job summary

Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company is seeking a Java Application Platform Engineer to maintain, modernize, and secure the organization's Java application platform. You will provide hands-on support to Java developers, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades across Spring, Hibernate, and related dependencies.

You will collaborate with development, architecture, security, and infrastructure teams to uphold platform standards, address vulnerabilities, and reduce technical debt, with

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience developing enterprise-level applications using Java technologies.
• Experience with Spring / Spring Boot and JPA / Hibernate.
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; Agile experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate software on projects in accordance with company specifications and requirements.
• Clarify and understand requirements and functional specs.
• Troubleshoot coding issues quickly to maintain a productive workplace.
• Create, update, and maintain application and code development documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
