Job summary

TRIGYN TECHNOLOGIES, INC. in Albany, NY is seeking a Java/J2EE Developer to join an agile team supporting government client projects. The role involves analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and documenting software enhancements and defect corrections.

You will develop Angular UIs, backend services with J2EE/Spring Boot, and integrate REST/SOAP services. Expect to work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Involved in all facets of software development lifecycle: research, design, programming, testing, and implementation.
• Ability to work independently and guide others; advanced education may be preferred.
• 5 years experience with Java-based, multi-tier web apps using J2EE or Spring Boot and agile practices.
• 4+ years creating Angular user interfaces with accessible designs meeting ADA/WCAG.
• 4+ years building REST or SOAP services and integrating backend components.
• 3 years writing complex SQL for DB2 and ORM frameworks.
• 2 years using GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD for automated builds and deployments.
• 2 years deploying applications on Google Cloud or other cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and document software enhancements and fixes.
• Develop accessible UI screens and reusable components with Angular; follow ADA WCAG requirements.
• Create and integrate backend services and interfaces using J2EE, Spring Boot, SOA, and microservice patterns.
• Develop REST and SOAP web services and integrate components into end-to-end processes.
• Write complex SQL for DB2 and other databases; use ORM frameworks.
• Perform unit, integration, and performance testing; resolve defects and bottlenecks.
• Use GitHub or GitLab and CI/CD pipelines to manage builds, tests, and deployments.
• Document system designs, diagrams, and support procedures; conduct code reviews and mentoring.

Job description

Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for Java / J2EE Developer in Albany, NY.

The selected consultant will work as part of an agile development team supporting project operations, enhancements, defect correction, and modernization.

Activities include, but are not limited to:

• Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and document project software enhancements and defect corrections.
• Develop accessible user-interface screens, reusable components, and application frameworks using Angular and Java technologies, with emphasis on ADA compliance.
• Develop and integrate backend services, classes, business processes, batch jobs, and interfaces using J2EE, Spring Boot, service-oriented architecture, and microservice patterns.
• Develop and maintain REST and SOAP web services and integrate application components into end-to-end business processes.
• Develop complex SQL and data-access components for DB2 and other relational databases, including object-relational mapping frameworks.
• Perform unit, integration, regression, and performance testing; identify and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Use GitHub or GitLab repositories and CI/CD pipelines to support controlled software builds, testing, and deployments.
• Analyze and document existing system design and functionality to support the enhancement roadmap, technical-debt remediation, and platform upgrades.
• Create and maintain technical designs, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, system documentation, and operational support procedures.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor staff in modern application development practices.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Is involved with all facets of the software development process, including the research, design, programming, testing and implementation of computer software.
• Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
• 60 months of experience developing Java-based, multi-tier web applications using J2EE or Spring Boot, industry-standard design patterns, and agile methodologies.
• 48 months of experience developing Angular user interfaces, reusable components, and accessible web applications that meet ADA or WCAG requirements.
• 48 months of experience developing and integrating REST or SOAP services, backend business services, batch jobs, and application interfaces.
• 36 months of experience developing complex relational database queries and data-access components using SQL, DB2, Hibernate, JPA, or comparable technologies.
• 36 months of experience using GitHub or GitLab repositories and CI/CD pipeline technologies for automated build, test, and deployment activities.
• 24 months of experience developing or supporting applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform or another enterprise cloud platform.
• 24 months of experience analyzing and documenting existing application designs, enhancement roadmaps, technical debt, or system functionality.
