Job summary

TRIGYN TECHNOLOGIES, INC. in Albany, NY is seeking a Java/J2EE Developer to translate business requirements into automated tax applications and support multi‑tier tax systems.

You will work with J2EE, Spring, JSON, JavaScript and JDBC to develop, document, and maintain code, while mentoring staff and coordinating code migrations from development to user test environments.

Qualifications

• Experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle.

• 5+ years of J2EE (EJB, JDBC, JSP, XML).
• 5+ years of Java development in IBM RAD/WebSphere WAS.
• 5+ years of IBM DB2 with XML schemas and query generation.
• 5+ years in performance tuning database applications.
• 3+ years with IBM MQSeries.
• 5+ years designing, developing, maintaining tax systems.
• Experience in multi‑tier transactional system design and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

Job description

Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for Java / J2EE Developer in Albany, NY.

Description:

• Obtain business requirements to develop automated applications which meet business priorities.
• Provide programming duties for tax related applications.
• Develop and mentor staff using various technologies including J2EE, Spring, JSON, JavaScript and JDBC.
• Develop and review detailed documentation for system and program change requirement including detail specifications documents.
• Assist and provide guidance through all phases of the project management life cycle.
• Develop unit test plans based on coding changes and user specifications. Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in the development environment.
• Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs, procedures, etc.) from development environment into user test environment.
• Assist team members using distributed technologies including Java, DB2, XML and XQuery. Ensure that staff members are properly trained and mentored.
• Provide support, as needed, for defects and issue resolution.
• Ensure that defects and issues are addressed promptly based on priority.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings with ITS and customers.
• Communicate both verbally and in writing, with management and users, ITS management, and team members.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Is involved with all facets of the software development process, including the research, design, programming, testing and implementation of computer software.
• Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
• 60 months experience with J2EE technologies including EJB, JDBC, JSP and XML.
• 60 months experience with Java programming in an IBM development environment using IDE of IBM's Rational Application Developer (RAD) that are deployed to WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
• 60 months of IBM DB2 experience working with DB2 databases and experience with XML schemas (definition, querying and automated generation).
• 60 months experience in performance tuning applications interacting with databases.
• 36 months of experience in IBM MQSeries
• 60 months experience providing technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of tax systems.
• 60 months of experience in system analysis and design experience for multi-tiered transactional systems and writing technical design specification documents for multifaceted component-based systems.
