Job summary

R&P Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to support Machinery Control Systems (MCS) and On-Board Training software for U.S. Navy ships in Philadelphia, PA.

You will participate in the full software life cycle, interfacing with Navy personnel, engineers, and contractors, and ensuring delivery of reliable software products. The role requires 3+ years of Java experience, a DoD secret clearance, and the ability to work onsite at the Philadelphia Naval Yard.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science.
• At least 3 years of Java developer experience.
• DoD Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work daily onsite at the Philadelphia Naval Yard.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of Machinery Control Systems (MCS) and On-Board Training Software.
• Design, develop, test, install, and maintain MCS and Training software.
• Perform Java code development and Java 8 to 17 migration.
• Work with MATLAB, Simulink, Simulink Coder, Visual Studio, and Git.
• Identify and document software and system related problems.
• Resolve software problems through debugging and investigation.
• Provide distance and onsite support of software problems.
• Prepare and maintain software requirements.
• Write, review, and maintain technical documentation.
