Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC in Ashburn, VA seeks a senior Java/JEE software engineer to design and implement microservice architectures. You will use Eclipse, VSCode, and Atlassian tools for design, development, and testing, and present solutions at design reviews with proper documentation following the Government's lifecycle methodology.

The role requires leading and mentoring junior developers, collaborating in a distributed team, and working across backend and UI technologies including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or related field with extensive experience.
• Proven AWS provisioning, operation, and maintenance.
• Strong backend experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience with Angular UI development.
• Database operations with Oracle and Postgres.
• Familiar with Hibernate, JMS, XML/JSON, SQL/JDBC.
• Ability to lead design reviews and document designs.

Job description

• Design and implement Micro Service Architecture JEE software applications.


• Use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, VSCode, and Atlassian Suites for design, development, and testing the software.


• Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field with 14+ years of technical experience or Master's and 12.


• Provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS (or equivalent cloud providers).


• Solid experience with backend systems using Spring Boot.


• Java Frameworks such as Spring.


• UI development skills, specifically with Angular 19+.


• Database operations (Oracle and Postgres).


• Hibernate.


• JMS.


• XML, JSON.


• SQL, JDBC.


• Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques.


• Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security etc.) and have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution.


• High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment.


• Ability to lead and mentor junior level developers.


• Openness to working on all layers of the application.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Master's in Computer Science or related field.


• Familiar with OAuth.


• Developing 100% automating unit tests using SOAP-UI, Selenium, or equivalent tools.


• Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (Git and Gradle/Maven).


• Load Balancing and Enterprise Service Bus frameworks (preferably under Cloud environment).


• Agile Scrum and possibly experience with leading a Scrum team as a scrum master or equivalent.


• Elasticsearch.
