Job summary

Robotic Technologies Automation in Ashburn, VA is seeking a senior Java/Spring developer to design and implement microservice-based JEE applications in a distributed team. You will use AWS, Eclipse, VSCode, and Atlassian tools to build, test, and document solutions per government lifecycle guidelines.

Responsibilities include leading backend and frontend tasks (Angular 19+), database work (Oracle/Postgres), and mentoring junior developers while contributing across all application layers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with substantial experience (14+ years) or Master's with 12+ years.
• Provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems on AWS or equivalent cloud providers.
• Solid backend experience with Spring Boot and Java frameworks.
• UI development with Angular 19+.
• Database operations with Oracle and Postgres; Hibernate, JMS, XML/JSON, JDBC.

• Use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, VSCode, and Atlassian Suites for design, development, and testing the software.
• Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field with 14+ years of technical experience or Master's and 12.
• Provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS (or equivalent cloud providers).
• Solid experience with backend systems using Spring Boot.
• Java Frameworks such as Spring.
• UI development skills, specifically with Angular 19+.
• Database operations (Oracle and Postgres).
• Hibernate.
• JMS.
• XML, JSON.
• SQL, JDBC.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
• Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security etc.) and have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution.
• High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior level developers.
• Openness to working on all layers of the application.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Master's in Computer Science or related field.
• Familiar with OAuth.
• Developing 100% automating unit tests using SOAP-UI, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
• Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (Git and Gradle/Maven).
• Load Balancing and Enterprise Service Bus frameworks (preferably under Cloud environment).
• Agile Scrum and possibly experience with leading a Scrum team as a scrum master or equivalent.
• Elasticsearch.
