Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team for a 6-month contract in the public sector. This role is based in Croydon and offers a competitive daily rate of £500-565, inside IR35. The successful candidate must hold or be eligible for SC and NPPV3 clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java applications using the Spring framework or equivalent.
• Apply software design patterns and best practices to ensure high-quality code.
• Utilise containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.
• Ensure code quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD) and setting high software quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in Java programming.
• Experience with the Spring framework or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns and their application.
• Excellent understanding of development processes.
• Experience with containerisation using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• A passion for delivering high-quality code through TDD.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in designing micro service-based architectures using Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS), and Event Sourcing patterns.
• Knowledge of or experience with Kubernetes.
• Certification or strong knowledge of the Spring framework.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
