About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Full Stack Java Software Developer to join a remote agile development team supporting a key defense program. This program enhances national security by developing scalable solutions using SAFe Agile methodologies, focusing on personnel vetting, credentialing, and insider threat mitigation.

This is a 100% remote opportunity for candidates with an active Secret clearance, offering the chance to work on high-impact government missions involving modern cloud, DevOps, and security-focused technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in agile development teams to design and build secure, scalable, cloud-based solutions
• Design, develop, test, and debug full stack applications using Java
• Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS tools and services
• Develop RESTful APIs and web services (SOAP, XML, JSON)
• Collaborate with systems analysts and engineering teams to define requirements
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Support the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, and deployment
• Provide operational support, troubleshooting, validation, and documentation
• Contribute to technical research, system design decisions, and mitigation planning
• Ensure product security, performance, and compliance standards are met
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (Master’s: 3+ years; PhD: entry-level acceptable)
• Active Secret security clearance required
• Strong hands-on experience with Java full stack development
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies and implementation of cloud-native applications
• Proficient in developing REST APIs, integrating web services, and using JSON/XML
• Familiar with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with system development life cycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices
• Must hold or be able to obtain Security+ certification upon hiring
