Our client, a major Global Investment Bank, is looking for a solid Java Consultant (this is a right-to-hire role) to work in their Reference Data in NYC. The team is responsible for providing data across Front/Middle/Back Office, Risk, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Tax Technology teams.

PLEASE NOTE: The role will begin remotely but eventually will be located in NYC. Candidates must be able to work in the US without a visa transfer

THE DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze, design, and deliver software from the ground up, working with Customers, Business Analysts, Quality Analysts, and other internal and external development teams
• Analyze data from various vendor sources
• Perform design and code reviews with other members of the team
• Deliver testable software to ensure high quality and be able to do automated regression
• Support solution after delivery, working with Production Services
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, and other open source software components
• Relational databases and SQL
• Web Services – REST/SOAP
• Preferably have worked with messaging middleware – ActiveMQ/Solace/TIBCO/Apache Kafka.
• Must have GIT (or similar software) for source code management
• Must have Jenkins/Bamboo/Maven for software build, packaging, and deployment
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, global team in an iterative development paradigm.
• Is always looking to push the boundaries to deliver innovative solutions for our clients and improve the software development process
