Job summary

CEI is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to design, build, and support backend services in a microservices environment. You will leverage Java, Spring Boot, and Flowable BPM to implement workflow-driven solutions and integrate RESTful APIs with enterprise systems.

This 6-month W2 contract is on-site in Pittsburgh, PA with potential extension or hire. Candidates should be comfortable working across locations including Pittsburgh and other listed sites.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java (modern versions) and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Flowable BPM and BPMN workflows.
• Ability to build and maintain BPM-driven automation.
• Microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Unit testing and debugging with JUnit and related tools.

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer with strong Flowable BPM experience to design, build, and support workflow-driven applications in a microservices environment. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining business process automation solutions using Flowable BPM, while building reliable, scalable backend services with Java and Spring Boot.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Design, implement, and support business workflows and process automation solutions using Flowable BPM
• Build and enhance microservices-based solutions aligned to established standards
• Integrate Flowable workflows with REST APIs, databases, and enterprise systems
• Translate business and technical requirements into maintainable implementations
• Write clean, well-tested code; perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices
