Job summary

Lynden Incorporated in SeaTac, WA is seeking a Mid-Level Software Developer to join our IT team. You’ll design, develop, test, and maintain Java 17+ applications, microservices, APIs, and services for our freight management systems.

The role is hybrid after training: 2 days onsite in SeaTac and 3 days remote, with 4+ years of hands-on Java experience and a focus on practical software that solves business problems in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of software development experience in a business environment.
  • Hands-on experience developing Java 17+ applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Experience deploying cloud-native applications in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and source control best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain Java-based applications, integrations, APIs, and services.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality software through clean, maintainable code and unit testing.
  • Analyze requirements and recommend technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers, business analysts, and developers to meet business objectives.

  • Provide training and post-installation support for users and IT staff.
  • Manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and deliver on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot defects and production issues with root-cause analysis.

Job description

Lynden Incorporated is seeking a Mid-Level Software Developer to join our SeaTac-based IT team. This role is ideal for a developer with 4+ years of hands-on Java experience who enjoys building practical software, solving business problems, and working in a collaborative team environment. In this role, you’ll design, develop, test, implement, and support Java-based applications, integrations, APIs, and services for Lynden’s freight management systems. This is a hybrid position after training, with 2 days onsite in SeaTac and 3 days remote. This position is non-safety sensitive and requires ongoing authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain Java-based applications, integrations, APIs, and services throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality software through clean, maintainable code, unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to established development, security, and change management standards.
  • Analyze project requirements, the existing environment, available technology, and develop recommendations for appropriate technology solutions.
  • Work closely with customers, business analysts, and other developers to understand business requirements and deliver quality, cost-effective technical solutions that align with business objectives, IT strategy, and architectural standards.
  • Participate in application and data architecture discussions and make recommendations regarding new development, system enhancements, technology adoption, and buy-versus-build decisions.
  • Provide training and post-installation support for customers, coworkers, and other IT support personnel.
  • Manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously, establishing priorities and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production support incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

  • Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/AKS, GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and logging tools, Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, RabbitMQ and cloud-native applications supporting freight management systems.

What We Need from You (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Your Schedule
  • Hybrid schedule upon completion of training with 2 days onsite and 3 days offsite.
    • Working onsite from our office in SeaTac, WA
    • Onsite days are Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
