Detailed Job Description

As a Java Backend Lead Engineer / Technical Lead supporting ICONMA in Duluth, GA, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of backend architecture, code quality, technical roadmap execution, and cross-functional engineering collaboration across mission-critical enterprise systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include leading the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-performance Java applications, RESTful APIs, and distributed microservices, mentoring junior and mid-level software engineers, conducting rigorous code reviews, and establishing engineering best practices, collaborating closely with product managers, QA squads, and executive stakeholders in Agile sprint cycles, provisioning and optimizing cloud-native infrastructure, containerization, and deployment pipelines, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and performance profiling for complex backend bottlenecks, preparing comprehensive technical documentation of system architectures, API specifications, and operational runbooks, and managing application requirements. You will utilize your proactive troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills to resolve complex backend and concurrency anomalies under strict service level agreements. Furthermore, you will manage application requirements ensuring strict compliance with local candidate requirements in Duluth, GA and visa transparency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, development, testing, and deployment of robust enterprise-grade Java applications and distributed microservices.

• Deep practical experience in database design, SQL optimization, and backend performance tuning.
