Job summary

Bitso is seeking a Software Engineer for the Nexus Squad responsible for the reliability, scalability, and evolution of our pay-in and pay-out systems, the financial backbone that moves billions of dollars worldwide.

You will design and deliver event-driven, high-throughput solutions that ensure every pay-in and pay-out is fast, accurate, and resilient, working with product, infra, and compliance teams to shape a domain where quality and performance matter.

Qualifications

• Proven Java backend production systems at scale.
• Experience with event-driven patterns and Kafka.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Cloud-native infra (AWS/GCP) and containers.
• Strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Own pay-in and pay-out systems end-to-end.
• Design Kafka-based pipelines for reliability at scale.
• Lead architecture discussions and set standards.
• Write high-quality, well-tested Java code.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools in workflow.
• Improve observability with metrics and tracing.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Finance.
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement.
• Resolve production incidents with root-cause analysis.
