Job summary

Candescent is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer II (Java) to join the Assisted Banking Team. You will develop backend services, REST APIs with Java and Spring Boot, and contribute to microservices-based architectures while upholding code quality and test coverage.

You will collaborate with QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software on schedule and continuously improve systems with a focus on scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 4–6 years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot.
• Good understanding of microservices and backend service integrations.
• Proven experience in coding, unit testing, debugging, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Write clean, maintainable code following established standards.
• Write and execute unit tests with JUnit and Mockito; ensure code quality.
• Debug application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and other teams to deliver features and resolve issues.
• Participate in CI/CD processes and release activities.
