Job summary

Benifex is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to shape the core experience across our platform. You will design, build, and maintain API-driven backend services powering Home, content creation, navigation, search, and translations for millions of users globally.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, MongoDB, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP, shaping architecture and driving scalable, observable systems. Visa sponsorship is not offered; UK or Ireland-based candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficient in building scalable, observable backend services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality REST APIs and backend services.
• Implement and evolve event-driven workflows using Pub/Sub for data synchronization.
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability of services.
