Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Java Application Developer to join the Fraud & Claims Technology team in Addison, TX. The role focuses on building Java-based services using Spring Boot, Cassandra, and Kafka to support fraud detection and claims processing.

Hybrid schedule with at least 3 onsite days per week; contract for 12 months with potential to convert to full-time. Requires 5–8 years in relevant roles and strong REST/SOAP, CI/CD, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Core Java and OO programming.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Framework including Boot, MVC, Batch, and Integration.
• Experience building REST and SOAP services using JSON/XML in SOA patterns.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and related services.
• Source control proficiency with Git or Bitbucket.
• Build and test automation with Maven, JUnit, TDD, and CI pipelines.
• NoSQL experience with Cassandra and relational DBs like Oracle/SQL Server.
• 5–8 years in relevant roles.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design meetings and contribute to solution architecture for fraud and claims platforms.
• Develop, test, and maintain Java-based services using Spring and related frameworks.
• Implement messaging/streaming via Kafka and MQ frameworks.
• Design data access with Cassandra and relational databases.
• Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams to deliver features and resolve issues.
• Apply TDD and CI practices with Maven, Git/Bitbucket, and JUnit.
