Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Mechanical Trimmer (Jarraff Operator) in Chesapeake, VA to operate heavy equipment for removing branches from electrical lines. Ideal candidates have prior Jarraff experience and are capable of performing daily equipment maintenance.

Foreperson guidance, safety focus, and ability to travel for storm work are essential. Applicants should hold a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to obtain a CDL/DOT card if required, and pass a background check and drug

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in utility vegetation management preferred.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
• Must have or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT Medical Card for driving positions.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate Jarraff and other heavy equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work.
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Lead fellow crew members when required and enforce safety rules.
• Travel for storm restoration work as needed.
