Job summary

Nintendo of America in Redmond, WA seeks a bilingual Japanese–English translator to support NOA and NCL. You will translate confidential emails and documents between Japanese and English, ensuring accurate meaning and appropriate nuance.

You will also manage communication tools and databases, follow security policies, provide excellent internal and external support, and adapt to evolving business needs in a hybrid Redmond office setting.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of related experience required.
• Two years of translation experience.
• JLPT N2 level in verbal and written communication in Japanese.
• Intermediate to high level of proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Proficient understanding of Japanese business culture and etiquette.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship-building skills.
• Multi-tasks under pressure in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
• Professional training in Japanese translation or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Translates confidential e-mails and other written documentation from Japanese to English, and English to Japanese.
• Chooses the equivalent expression in the target language that fully conveys and best matches the meaning intended in the source language.
• May manage various communication tools and database and contributes to improve usability and efficiency.
• Performs all job responsibilities in strict adherence to corporate prototype security policy and procedures.
• Provides excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
• The scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
