Job summary

ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a reliable Janitorial Technician to join our full-time team. You will perform cleaning duties across facilities using standard products, maintain areas, and ensure a healthy environment.

The role requires attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, Monday through Friday with no weekends. On-the-job training is provided, and experience with a professional janitorial company is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper is a plus but not required.
• On-the-job training provided to those with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform all cleaning duties for facilities using provided ServiceMaster products, tools, and procedures.
• Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, restroom cleaning, vacuuming, moving furniture and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use of proper PPE where required.
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security systems as required.

Hours are 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm Monday through Friday (no weekends).

Job Position Description

This position is responsible for creating cleaner and healthier environments for our customers by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be Assigned:

• Perform all cleaning duties for facilities using provided ServiceMaster products, tools, and procedures

Physical Demands and Qualifications

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and/or carry 25lbs.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
