Job summary

ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo is hiring a part-time Janitorial Technician to maintain clean, healthy environments for our clients. Shifts are from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with training provided and on-the-job support to learn cleaning procedures and safety practices.

You will perform general cleaning duties, restocking supplies, and adhere to PPE guidelines in a fast-paced setting while contributing to a positive team atmosphere and reliable service.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience as custodian, janitor, or housekeeper is a plus but not required.
• On-the-job training provided to those with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Experience with a professional janitorial company or office complex is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties for facilities using provided products, tools, and procedures.
• Clean floors, restrooms, trash, and surfaces; sweep, mop, vacuum, and move furniture as needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required.
• Open and lock facilities; enable and disable security systems as required.
• Be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Job Position Description:

This position is responsible for creating cleaner and healthier environments for our customers by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be Assigned:

• Perform all cleaning duties for facilities using provided ServiceMaster products, tools, and procedures
• Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, restroom cleaning, vacuuming, moving furniture and equipment, etc.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use of proper PPE where required.
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security systems as required.
• 1-2 years experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper is a plus but not required.

• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school is a plus.

Physical Demands and Qualifications:

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and/or carry 25lbs.
