Job summary

Summit Building Services is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead our janitorial team servicing Akron area facilities. You will oversee staffing, training, and day-to-day operations to ensure top-quality cleaning standards and client satisfaction.

Position offers 30-40 hours weekly with a varying schedule after 5pm, pay of $19.50 per hour, and full-time status on 2nd/3rd shifts including weekends. Opportunities for advancement and benefits are provided.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills for client requests and complaints.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate janitorial staff across multiple sites.
• Train, motivate, and develop team members for quality service.
• Work with HR to staff and train jobs, cover shifts when needed.
• Perform regular site inspections to ensure specifications are met.
• Complete work tickets and submit reports to Area Manager.

Job Skills / Requirements

Summit Building Services is looking for an area supervisor to join our janitorial team! We service commercial buildings in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Canton, and the surrounding areas. You would be assisting with coverage, training new employees, detail work, and assisting with supply orders.

30-40 hours weekly: Monday - Saturday, a varying schedule after 5pm

Pay: $19.50 hourly

Job Duties Include

• Work with employees to handle all client requests or complaints in a timely manner
• Supervise, train, motivate, and develop team members
• Work with HR to ensure all jobs are properly staffed and trained
• Perform coverage in the event of an employee absence
• Disciplinary action and/ or termination of employees when necessary
• Perform regular inspections of buildings to ensure that specifications are being met
• Correct deficiencies in buildings whenever necessary
• Complete work tickets
• Send reports to Area Manager
• Recommendation of special project work when needed
• Complete ongoing education to gain competency in their position
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
