Job summary

IFS is hiring a full-time Janitorial Crew Member in San Leandro, CA. The role involves cleaning building floors, fixtures and restrooms, handling cleaning equipment, and reporting facility issues.

Shifts include days and some weekends, with a flexible schedule across Monday to Friday 7am-12:30pm and other hours as needed. Applicants should have experience in building and warehouse cleaning, strong instruction-following ability, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in building/warehouse cleaning.
• Able to follow written and oral safety instructions.
• Good communication with officials, staff and public.
• Willing to perform other duties as assigned.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance procedures (English; Spanish per state requirements).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain building floor surfaces (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming).
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, fixtures, machines; dust, wash, vacuum, polish.
• Gather and empty trash; restrooms cleaning and restocking.
• Move light furniture if needed; handle carpet extraction for small jobs.
• Prepare cleaning solutions as specified; monitor and report facility issues.

If you want a flexible schedule to earn some additional income while being part of an exciting, dynamic and growing team with leadership opportunities in a fast-paced environment, then this is the job for you!If this sounds like the right environment for you, then why wait, APPLY TODAY!!Work Schedule: Days/nights vary, including weekendsShifts Available:Monday to Friday. 7am-12:30pmSummary of duties:Clean and maintain building floor surfaces, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, degumming and spot cleaningClean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures, machines and other equipment (e.g. Dust, wash, vacuum, and polish)Gather and empty trashService, clean and supply restroomsMay move furniture, light fixtures or other items manually or with hand truckMay extract carpet (small jobs)Execute proper use of all equipmentClean and maintain cleaning equipment per instructions (e.g. rags, mops, machines, tools and buckets)Prepare cleaning solutions (water, detergents and other chemicals) according to specificationsMonitor and report facility issues requiring repairs (notify Lead, Site or Zone Manager)Monitor building security and safety (lock doors after operating hours and ensure electrical appliances are turned off, etc.)Properly stack and replace cleaning items and toolsEnsure supplies are available for each shiftReport supply requisition needs to Lead/ManagerRequirements for our Janitorial Crew Member position:Experience in building and warehouse cleaning work.Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.Disposition to perform other duties as assigned.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required).
