Job summary

Innovative Facility Services is seeking a Janitorial Crew Member for our growing team. Shifts include early morning hours (4am-11am) with Thursdays off. You will clean and maintain building floors, furniture, walls, and restrooms, and report facility issues as needed.

This full-time position offers benefits under the applicable CBA and opportunities for leadership as part of a union-represented team. Prior cleaning experience preferred; English safety documents required.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and warehouse cleaning work.
• Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
• Strong communication to interact with officials, staff and the public.
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and chemical handling sheets (English; may include Spanish where state required).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all floor surfaces (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, degumming, spot cleaning).
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures and equipment; dust, wash, vacuum, polish as needed.
• Gather and empty trash and service restrooms.
• Move light furniture or fixtures as required.
• Possibly extract carpet on small jobs; use equipment properly.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and monitor supplies for each shift.

Shifts Available:

4am-11am 6 days thursdays off

Summary of duties:

• Clean and maintain building floor surfaces, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, degumming and spot cleaning
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures, machines and other equipment (e.g. Dust, wash, vacuum, and polish)
• Gather and empty trash
• Service, clean and supply restrooms
• May move furniture, light fixtures or other items manually or with hand truck
• May extract carpet (small jobs)
• Execute proper use of all equipment
• Clean and maintain cleaning equipment per instructions (e.g. rags, mops, machines, tools and buckets)
• Prepare cleaning solutions (water, detergents and other chemicals) according to specifications
• Monitor and report facility issues requiring repairs (notify Lead, Site or Zone Manager)
• Monitor building security and safety (lock doors after operating hours and ensure electrical appliances are turned off, etc.)
• Properly stack and replace cleaning items and tools
• Ensure supplies are available for each shift
• Report supply requisition needs to Lead/Manager

Requirements for our Janitorial Crew Member position:

• Experience in building and warehouse cleaning work.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
• Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Disposition to perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required).
